Alec Baldwin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust” for a second time.

The actor has been indicted by a grand jury in New Mexico over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was struck with a live .45 bullet when Baldwin was aiming an antique six-shooter during anon-set rehearsal in Oct. 2021.

Though the gun was real, it should have been loaded with dummy rounds.

“The above named defendant did cause the death of Halyna Hutchins by an act committed with the total disregard of indifference for the safety of others,” the indictment obtained by The Post read.

“We look forward to our day in court,” Baldwin’s attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, told The Post of the new charges.

Baldwin – who was also an executive producer and co-writer on the Western – has maintained he never pulled the trigger – which contradicts the FBI’s ruling that the revolver could not have fired without the trigger being clipped.

The film’s director, Joel Souza, was also shot in the shoulder in the accidental firing of the gun.

The production company behind the project – Rust Movie Productions LLC – had its lawyers on the scene even before police arrived, prosecutor Kari Morrissey alleged in October.

The legal counsel was at the Santa Fe locations within just “30 to 60 minutes,” Morrissey claimed.

Shortly after, two sources connected to the case told NBC News that Baldwin was possibly facing charges related to the shooting.

Baldwin had previously been charged with the same crime by the Santa Fe district attorney in January 2022.

He pleaded not guilty, but the case fell apart and the charges were dropped in April that year after it was determined that further tests needed to be done on the weapon that fired the bullet.

However, the DA was clear that the door would be left open to refile the charges.

In November, videos from the set showed Baldwin firing prop guns and speaking with the crew about firearm safety.

One of the clips showed the “30 Rock” star lying on the ground and telling someone to move to the “other side of the camera” because “I don’t want to shoot towards you.”

In another video, the seasoned Hollywood vet appeared to pause filming in order to check on the crew.

“Are you OK?” he asked repeatedly as the team trekked up a steep trail.

Prosecutors have also charged “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who oversaw the weapons on the movie set, with the same crime. AP

The family continues to “seek the truth in our civil lawsuit for them and they also would like there to be accountability in the criminal justice system,” a lawyer for Hutchins’ parents told The Post Friday.

“The grand jury has decided that there is sufficient evidence to indict Alec Baldwin on the charge of involuntary manslaughter. We are looking forward to the criminal trial which will determine if he should be convicted for the untimely death of Halyna,” they said.

Gutierrez-Reed – the daughter of the daughter of known film industry armorer Thell Reed – was reportedly drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in the evenings during filming, prosecutors said in July.

The 27-year-old may have been hungover when the shooting occurred, they added.

She has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial – but Baldwin will not be called to testify in her case, documents revealed.

If convicted, Baldwin could face 18 months in prison.

Meanwhile, “Rust” resumed filming in Montana in April 2023, and wrapped in May – and Joel Souza even returned to complete the project.

Hutchins’ widower, Matthew Hutchins, will be credited as an executive producer on the film as part of his undisclosed settlement with Baldwin.
