Angus Cloud’s “Euphoria” co-stars, as well as other celebrities, are mourning the 25-year-old actor following his death Monday.
“There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression,” the HBO show’s creator, Sam Levinson, told The Post in a statement Monday.
Levinson, 38, concluded: “I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”
Javon Walton — who portrayed Ashtray, the little brother of Cloud’s character, Fezco, a fan-favorite drug dealer, in “Euphoria” — captioned an Instagram picture of themselves with “Rest easy brother❤️🕊️.”
The 17-year-old actor shared another snap on his Instagram Story, writing, “Forever family ❤️.”
The controversial “Euphoria” premiered in 2019 with a cast including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, and Dominic Fike.
While walking down a street in Manhattan, Cloud was discovered by a casting agent who encouraged him to audition for “Euphoria.”
He did, later admitting he first believed it was a scam.
An HBO spokesperson told The Post on Monday: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
Cloud’s family announced his death Monday.
While they did not share a cause of death, they did reveal he recently lost his father and suffered from mental health issues.
The Oakland Fire Department told The Post that it responded to Cloud’s Oakland home around 11:30 a.m. Monday for a medical emergency.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesperson said.
Per protocol, the body was left in the care of the police department and coroner.
TMZ reported that Cloud’s mom made the 911 call and mentioned a “possible overdose” after she reportedly found him without a pulse.
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” the family’s statement read, in part. “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
“Please remember how loved you are. this world is so quick to make you feel otherwise. there are reasons to stick around. and this world needs you. oh, angus. we celebrate you,” Zegler wrote.
“Wow angus cloud gone too soon.. rest in peace angel,” singer Chloe Bailey also shared on X.
“Scandal” star Kerry Washington posted a photo of Cloud, writing: “You will be deeply missed. Rest in Power @anguscloud ❤️🙏🏾.”
