Bryan Cranston told James Corden to fetch him some coffee during the pair’s first meeting.
The “Breaking Bad” alum hilariously thought that the former “Late Late Show” host was his waiter during an impromptu encounter in LA years ago.
Appearing on “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” the duo recalled their first interaction which Corden looked back on with humor.
“My story is very emotional for me right now. For my story is the first time I ever met Bryan Cranston, which was a huge moment in my life,” Corden shared.
“My wife and I had gone to — she was my girlfriend at the time — and we’d gone to Los Angeles for the first time in our lives, and we’d spent the entire morning watching season 2 of Breaking Bad.”
Corden said the pair decided to head out for some lunch after a morning of binge-watching the hit show.
“I go for lunch and who walks in the restaurant but Bryan Cranston. To this day, I have never been as starstruck as I was in that moment,” Corden recalled.
But unfortunately for the Brit, the encounter was less than special for Cranston.
“I went over, I said ‘Bryan…’” Corden recalled, before Cranston admitted, “And then I immediately say, ‘Could I have some more coffee, please?’”
Confirming the misunderstanding, the “Gavin & Stacey” alum continued, “That is completely true.”
He went on, “I said, ‘Bryan, you don’t know me, I’m an actor in the United Kingdom and I was watching the show this morning. Your performance is incredible.’ And he said ‘Thank you, can I get a Diet Coke with no ice?’”
Corden appeared on the show to promote his new Sirius XM interview series, “This Life of Mine with James Corden,” while Cranston has been promoting his latest film, “Argylle.”
Last year, Cranston revealed he is planning to step away from acting in 2026.
The 67-year-old said he wants to “level out” his marriage with wife Robin Dearden, 70, to whom he’s been married since 1989.
Cranston wants to “change the paradigm” of their union, and in a desperate bid to do so, he will be shutting down his production company and selling his half of Dos Hombres, the mezcal company he co-founded with former co-star Aaron Paul.
