Chargers include Chiefsaholic, Mike McDaniel vaping in schedule video

The Los Angeles Chargers definitely Went There in their schedule release video.

The NFL had its annual day of generating mass interest in the league’s scheduling announcements on Thursday, a remarkable feat of getting the public to wait with bated breath about the when their favorite teams would play opponents, who were already known.

The Chargers are garnering the most attention of anyone in the league for their video, and for good reason.

The anime-style video includes all sorts of Easter eggs, like Chiefsaholic cutting off his ankle bracelet, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel ripping a fat vape cloud, as eagle-eyed social media sleuths believed he was doing during a game last season (Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa denied his coach was vaping and said that it was just cold outside).

There is also a QR code that sends Chargers fans to a ticket page and Raiders fans to a Google search for “how to get a job.”

Returning to Chiefsaholic, for the unitiated, this is Chiefs super fan Xaviar Babudar, who seemed to be at every game and was ubiquitous on social media, that is until he was arrested in December for allegedly robbing a bank in Tulsa.

Before his arrest, Babudar had shared futures bets on Patrick Mahomes to win MVP and the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, both of which happened, which generated over $100,000 in proceeds, which he could’ve used to bail himself out of jail.

And then, after his bail, he went on the lam.

In March, Babudar cut off his ankle bracelet and skipped a court hearing.

He is still on the run, as there is a $1 million bond warrant out for his arrest.

The Chargers’ video was released shortly after 8 p.m., and as of 9 p.m. ET it already has been viewed 600,000 times on Twitter.
