Chiefs’ Mecole Hardman drops baby hint after drama before Super Bowl 2023

It appears the newest member of Chiefs Kingdom has arrived.

Hours after the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023 on Sunday, Kansas City wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. appeared to confirm the birth of his son with girlfriend Chariah Gordon, whose water broke ahead of the big game.

“He’s here,” Hardman posted early Monday morning on his social media pages.

The couple confirmed in October they were expecting a baby boy with a gender reveal bash.

“I was #TeamBoy all the way!” the 24-year-old Hardman posted on Instagram. “Daddy loves you already!”

Gordon also posted a video of the special moment on her Instagram page, where she remarked: “I’m a BOY MOM… This experience has been so beautiful so far! I cried like a baby lol.”

Although Gordon supported Hardman from Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ AFC Championship win in late January, she celebrated Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory from the hospital on Sunday.

“2x Champ!!! congratulations 🍾 baby now come on son! we’re ready,” the Glo Collection entrepreneur posted in an Instagram Story.

A second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Hardman won his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2020 following their win over the 49ers. He was placed on injured reserve earlier this month after re-aggravating a pelvic injury in the AFC title game and was sidelined for the Super Bowl.

Though Hardman didn’t participate in the game, he congratulated his teammates after the Chiefs claimed their second Super Bowl title in four years.

“SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS BABY!!! Love y’all #ChiefsKigndom !!!” he tweeted.

In addition to Hardman and Gordon, Chiefs guard Nick Allegretti and his wife, Christina, welcomed Super Bowl babies on Sunday with the arrival of their twin daughters.
