Influencers feud over inappropriate behavior at 6-week-old baby’s funeral

Two influencers are at war online following allegedly inappropriate behavior at the funeral of a 6-week-old boy.

Veruca Salt held a funeral for her son, Cash, in February this year where Gold Coast influencer and adult content creator Tasha Paige was in attendance.

Salt’s son died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome just six weeks after he came into the world.

During the funeral, Paige allegedly made inappropriate comments about Salt’s son, became intoxicated and filmed without the grieving mother’s consent.

Paige has not addressed the comments she allegedly made about Cash.

However, things came to a head this week after Paige took to social media to complain that Salt, who’s real name is Kimberly Summer Hartley, never thanked her for a baby shower gift.

The 25-year-old then took to a secondary social media account where she said six months after her son’s death Paige was trying to “make it about herself”.

“I don’t know if you have noticed but I don’t talk about my baby or my grief online anymore because I feel it gets twisted into something even more ugly,” Salt said, referring to criticism she faced for mourning publicly.

“I genuinely cannot believe she has the nerve to even utter my name online. I have barely scratched the surface on the things she’s done.”

She went on to detail what happened at the funeral, claiming Paige upset other guests and made comments such as “he’s gonna get so much p***y in heaven” and repeatedly calling Salt a “bad b***h”.

Salt also claimed Paige, who publically has stated she had an abortion around the same time, said she understood Salt’s pain because of this.

Other social media users were quick to deliver their interpretation of events.

“The sad part is everyone will forget she did this in a year and she’ll still have supporters,” one said.

Another said: “Her behaviour is actually sickening.”

Salt then publicly shared a screenshot of a text message from Paige where she apologised for her behaviour the day after the funeral.

Paige has made several videos about the claims made against her, saying all she was talking about was the baby shower gift and that’s what she was upset about not getting a thank you for.

“Prior to the funeral I was pregnant. Veruca and I were friends and I was talking to her about my pregnancy and what I wanted to do, whether or not I was going to choose to keep it or not,” she said.

She claimed Salt told her to keep it, which the other influencer has disputed, and said that after going through with terminating the pregnancy she was going through a lot of emotions.

Paige said those emotions were subconscious and it wasn’t until she was in a situation that triggered them did it all come back up.

When Paige got the news about Cash, she was overseas so she sent flowers and a teddy bear but said she did not hear from Salt which she understood.

“But the thing is, when I came I got an invite to the funeral. When I got the invite I said to my friends ‘I don’t think this is a good idea because I just had an abortion’,” she said, with her friends agreeing

“But I tried to put it aside because I wanted to be there for my friend.”

Paige then wanted to bring another gift to the funeral so after asking Salt what she liked to drink, she brought tequila. Paige said everyone was drinking at the event and having shots. This is when she claims she started to get “emotional and worked up”.

“Long story short, I was hysterical at the funeral,” she said.

“When I went to the funeral I wasn’t planning on drinking. I drove there.”

She said she sent the apology to Salt because she realised her behaviour on the day wasn’t acceptable and she wanted to take accountability for what she did, adding she never expected Salt to forgive her.

In hindsight, she said she shouldn’t have gone to the funeral given what she had been going through.

Since making this public statement, Paige said she is getting threats from 14-year-olds online and she doesn’t know what people want her to do.

“This happened in February like two weeks after my abortion. I already contacted. I already apologised to her directly,” she said.

“I already said how I know I f***ed up. I don’t know why people keep coming.”

She said people had made the same point a hundred times but said maybe if they made it a thousand times it might get their point across.
