Madonna, the Queen of Pop, is back to tour rehearsals and is feeling better than ever after a brief hospitalization in June, according to a new report.
“She returned to rehearsals last Monday,” an unidentified source told People on Tuesday. “She’s so happy to be back on stage and is feeling strong.”
“She’s working closely with her longtime collaborators, Jamie King and Stuart Price, to put the final touches on the show,” the insider continued.
The source also added that the new shows will be the Queen of Pop’s “most ambitious tour ever.”
The Post reached out to representatives for Madonna for comment.
On June 28, Page Six exclusively revealed that the 65-year-old had been rushed to a New York City hospital after being found unresponsive.
She was admitted to the ICU, and intubated overnight.
It turns out that the star was battling a “serious bacterial infection,” and allegedly had a low-grade fever for a month before she was admitted.
Although it was reported that the “Material Girl” singer was feeling “weak and very tired” shortly after her illness, it seems like she is on the road to recovery nearly three months after the fact.
The source also alleged to People that she was able to enjoy her birthday on August 16 with her children and friends in Europe, and is now focused on the tour.
“She enjoyed her birthday in Lisbon with all her kids and close friends. Now she’s back in work mode and focused on the tour,” the insider claimed. “This is where she thrives. She loves being back in a creative environment.”
She thanked fans for their prayers and well-wishes on Instagram on July 10.
“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement,” the “Vogue” singer wrote in a statement posted to the social media platform, along with a selfie.
“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour,” she added.
However, it appears her tour, which was set to kick off in July, has been rescheduled. Her first date is currently set for Oct. 14 in London at the O2 Arena.
In July, she admitted that she was “lucky to be alive” after she received a Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of artist Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it.
The gift was given to her by her manager, Guy Oseary, while she was surrounded by her loved ones.
And, as the 65-year-old gears up for her exciting new tour, there might be another icon joining her on the stage.
Madonna is hoping to get pop star Britney Spears to join her for the upcoming “Celebration” tour, Page Six exclusively reported last month.
She specifically wants Spears to appear at one of her Los Angeles shows in March to mark the 20th anniversary of their hit collaboration, “Me Against the Music,” which was released in October 2003.
