Michael Kay wasn’t going to hide his excitement over the sad state of the Jets with Aaron Rodgers – even if it was going to make him “look bad.”

Rodgers brought hope of Super Bowl grandeur with him to Florham Park two years ago after Gang Green traded with the Packers for the former MVP.

None of it has materialized and it feels like the Jets as a franchise are in a worse state than they were when the now 41-year-old Rodgers arrived.

Gang Green sits at 3-8 and has already fired head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.

Rodgers missed his entire first season with the Jets after tearing his Achilles tendon four plays into his regular season debut.

Kay seems to be enjoying watching Rodgers hit colossal bust status.

“This is going to make me look bad and I don’t care, I’m just gonna be honest,” Kay said to co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg on Tuesday’s “The Michael Kay Show” on ESPN radio. “I’m glad he’s not doing well, because he’s kind of a jackass. I’m glad he’s not doing well. I wasn’t rooting for him at the beginning of the year, I never wanted him to get hurt, but he has such a cockiness about him – and most professional athletes do – that there was no way he was gonna fail.”

Rodgers is having one of his worst seasons statistically, completing just 63.4 percent of his passes for 2,442 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions over 11 games.

He has not thrown for 300 yards in any game this season.

Kay appears to be finding some enjoyment in the once-great Rodgers struggling.

“The fact that he’s struggling so much, maybe it humanizes him. Maybe it brings him down a peg. I wanted the Jets to do well for the Jets’ sake and Jets fans’ sake, but since they’re not doing well and he’s right in the middle of it…his performance got Douglas fired, his performance got Saleh fired, his performance got [former offensive coordinator Nathaniel] Hackett demoted. It kinda makes me feel warm and fuzzy as the holidays approach.”

Rodgers has not ruled out playing next season and said his preferred team doing so with would be Jets.
