Earlier this week on “AEW Dynamite,” it was announced that Thunder Rosa was pulling out of her scheduled defense of the AEW Women’s World Championship at an all-out pay-per-view due to injury. It was announced that there would be a four-way match at All Out to crown an interim AEW Women’s World Champion instead of AEW. The match will feature top-ranked contender Tony Storm, former champion Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida and Jamie Hayter.
Hatter played a title shot against Rosa at the Battle of the Belts III earlier this month, a match in which Rosa accidentally broke Hayter’s nose. Now, a new report from Fanbyte is shedding light on the situation that played out backstage after that match.
While it was reported that Rosa was “hidden in the bathroom,” this may have been a misinterpretation of the actual chain of events backstage. After the match, Rosa “sprinted” from the ring and was nowhere to be seen, according to sources who spoke to Fanbite’s David Bixenspan. When Rosa resurfaced, she was told of the injury to Hatter. Sources said that after hearing about the injury, Rosa apologized and locked herself inside before going to the bathroom.
It wasn’t long after it was speculated that Rosa and Baker were having issues with each other. This may have been a factor in the original match at All Out Changing, which was scheduled to go over the Storm and take the AEW Women’s Championship away from Rosa.
