A restaurant owner in the UK couldn’t help but share the hilarious secret note he received — and now, the hush-hush message meant only for the delivery driver is going viral around the world.
Waseem Banaras, the owner of Munchies Eston, had to laugh when he received a rare but honest delivery note.
“Knock quietly, I’m supposed to be on a diet,” the receipt’s message read.
The struggling dieter had ordered a Texas BBQ personal pizza, a waffle with double chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce and a Dr. Pepper at 6:05 p.m. on Dec. 11.
Banaras shared that the Just Eat delivery driver did follow through with the request.
“The delivery driver definitely did follow the request,” the shop owner said.
“We couldn’t possibly betray the customer’s trust.”
The owner of the to-go fast food shop thought the request was so hilarious, he posted a photo of the receipt online to share some laughs.
“Your secret is safe with us…” he captioned the photo.
He explained that he simply “found it hilarious.”
“It felt like something we would all do!” Banaras said.
The post went viral when it made it onto a popular meme page, @the_dadclub_, where it quickly racked up over 110,000 likes and 500 comments.
A viewer commented: “Shh don’t tel my kids.” [sic]
Another said: “A cheat day is needed every now and then stay strong.”
“The double chocolate diet,” someone else joked.
While this note was written with good intentions, others have gone viral sharing rude notes they’ve received from angry customers or drivers.
A foodie who ordered DoorDash to her house was shocked when she opened the food bag to discover a rude and threatening note.
