“Sister Wives” star Garrison Brown reportedly sent alarming texts before his tragic death on Tuesday, causing his mom, Janelle Brown, to send his brother Gabe to go check on him.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Janelle, 54, reportedly told officers that Garrison, 25, texted a group of people that the Brown family works with — presumably on their TLC reality show — ominously, writing: “We strongly condemn words or actions that promote violence or sexism of any kind.”
Janelle didn’t appear to be included in the text chain but somehow heard about it, so she texted Garrison herself.
She told police that the two of them texted for a few minutes until Garrison stopped responding. Janelle also claimed that her son was estranged from his polygamist dad, Kody Brown, 55.
As documented on “Sister Wives,” Garrison and Gabe, 22, moved out of their parents’ Las Vegas home to Flagstaff, AZ, due to disagreements over Kody’s strict COVID-19 rules.
Janelle reportedly contacted her other kids and asked if they could go to Garrison’s home in Flagstaff to check on him. Gabe volunteered to do so.
Police confirmed Tuesday that they met up with Gabe at the scene where they found Garrison dead as a result of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The police report claims Garrison lived with three roommates — some of whom said they heard a noise Monday night but did not think it was a gunshot. Additionally, they claimed none of them went to check on Garrison after hearing the sound.
It reportedly wasn’t until Gabe arrived to the house on Tuesday where he allegedly found Garrison and called 911.
The roommates told police that Garrison was known to allegedly struggle with alcohol. Gabe claimed that his brother seemed to be doing okay and recently got a new job at a medical facility.
Janelle and Kody released a joint statement on Garrison’s death Tuesday via Instagram.
“Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory,” they wrote.
