He was free-fallin’.
A skydiver in Spain has plummeted into the spotlight after capturing his own stunning, near-15,000 foot drop on camera — a jump he called his “most impressive one,” Storyful reported.
Trained daredevil Eric Finat Trepat described his 43rd plane plunge — where he shot through cloud layers before landing near the Catalonian city of Girona — as “the best jump to date,” through separate climates of clear and cloudy, hot and cold.
The stunt quickly went viral, thanks to the availability of awe-inspiring visuals showing Finat Trepat approaching terra firma.
For the veteran stuntman, who has amassed roughly 45,000 followers on Instagram, the feat of derring-do is apparently only the beginning.
“There are still many countries that I’m looking forward to seeing from above, let’s go with it all,” he said.
The Spaniard has a long way to go to break the world record for free falls.
The current reigning champion is Alan Eustace, a 65-year-old former Google executive from the United States who jumped successfully from an astonishing 135,890 feet — over three times the normal cruising altitude of a passenger jet — in 2014.
The fall took 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, Finat Trepat made sure to pass on a few words of advice to fellow adventurers looking to attempt similar stunts — namely, that the sky’s the limit.
“PS: To all of you who have asked me, don’t be afraid to take the step, it’s within your reach, you just have to open the door, jump and enjoy,” Finat Trepat wrote.
“I haven’t taken away the urge to jump despite the fear of the other day, being on the edge of death has only made me stronger.”
