Tom Cruise is reportedly holding a grudge about his former friendship with David and Victoria Beckham.
The former friends grew close back in 2007 when the Beckhams made the decision to move to America for the footballer’s move to the LA Galaxy squad.
The three of them became inseparable at first and were regularly seen out publicly at events together, alongside Cruise’s then-wife, Katie Holmes.
However, the group began to grow apart, and it’s been suggested that Cruise is still holding a grudge against the Netflix documentary stars.
Speaking about Cruise’s former friendship with David and Victoria, a source told The Mirror: “Tom did everything for them when they first moved to LA. He practically gave them the keys to the city. He threw them a party to meet everyone important, and the moment they were established they chucked him!”
The source added that Posh had hoped to build bridges with Cruise – who was revealed recently to have penned a personal letter to Timothee Chamalet – but that the movie star rejected their efforts.
“He’s still angry and has no intention of being friends again. David and Victoria tested the waters a while ago, but Tom ignored them — so it makes sense they haven’t invited him to anything. Tom clearly thinks they should have tried harder.”
Another source previously told Radar Online that Cruise was insistent about the pair learning more about Scientology, which sparked the Beckhams’ decision to take a step back from the friendship.
Meanwhile, the Beckhams recently made headlines around the world following the debut of their new Netflix documentary series.
In the Beckhams’ documentary, Posh Spice revealed how extra-marital affair allegations impacted her and David’s relationship.
The footballer was alleged to have had a romance with former glamor model Rebecca Loos, and the rumors almost tore the couple apart.
She shared: “It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.
“You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.
“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.”
