Travis Kelce bought a horse, and while that may sound like a joke the famous footballer would make on his beloved podcast, the Chiefs star is now the owner of a racehorse that partially shares a name with the tight end’s pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Kelce and the Zoldan family — who own Phantom Fireworks — acquired a “significant share” of the horse named Swift Delivery, according to a press release by Team Valor International founder and CEO Barry Irwin.

There was no immediate indication that the horse’s name has any connection to the pop icon or if that had been a mere coincidence but it’s hard not to notice the possible connection to Swift.

Kelce and Swift have become football’s first couple since their relationship went public last fall, and Swift became a mainstay at a number of Kelce’s games with the Cheifs.

Kelce has also been at a number of Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concerts during the football offseason.

Several other professional athletes have gotten invoiced in ownership of a racehorse, including former major leaguer Jayson Werth and NHL defenseman Erik Johnson.

Swift Delivery has been a winner in his past two starts at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, and trainer Mark Casse sees a lot of potential in the horse, he told the Associated Press.

“He’s a horse that we always thought a lot of, and he just didn’t perform — and now he’s performing,” Casse said. “This horse is good. He’s good right now, and he has the potential to go on and do big things.”

The family that Kelce purchased a stake in the horse alongside have had close connections to the NFL star.

Kelce attended this year’s Kentucky Derby with the Zoldan family and is also close with Phantom Fireworks CEO Bruce Zoldan’s son, Alex.

Taylor Made also sponsors the horse, according to the Daily Mail.
