Another longtime talent at ESPN has exited the network.
Wendi Nix, who most recently was hosting “College Football Live,” announced on Instagram last week that her time at ESPN has come to an end after 17 years.
“Exactly 17 years ago, I walked into ESPN wide-eyed and excited. This week, I walk out the same way. Grateful, but equally excited about the next chapter. To be continued…” she wrote on the social media network.
A number of her colleagues supported her in the comments section to express their support.
“Amazing run, Wendi! Best of luck with whatever is next!” wrote NFL host and reporter Field Yates.
College football personality Ryan McGee wrote, “Proud to be your teammate!!!”
While ESPN recently underwent a round of layoffs that affected about 20 on-air talents, it was a different case with Nix, as her contract expired and was not renewed, a source told The Post.
An ESPN spokesperson declined to comment.
Nix will be replaced on “College Football Live” by Kelsey Riggs, who joined ESPN in 2019 as a host at ACC Network.
In the round of layoffs enacted earlier this summer, ESPN let go a number of household names, including Jeff Van Gundy, Todd McShay, Steve Young, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Nick Friedell and Jalen Rose.
Mark Jackson was later let go when ESPN replaced him and Van Gundy with Doris Burke and Doc Rivers as the color commentators alongside play-by-play broadcaster Mike Breen on the network’s top NBA announce team.
