Zach Wilson’s family had much to celebrate on Wednesday.
Quarterback Isaac Wilson, the younger brother of the Jets’ third-year signal-caller, announced he’s committing to the Utah Utes football program, which Wilson family matriarch, Lisa, commemorated in a series of Instagram Stories.
“So proud of my handsome boy,” Lisa gushed.
In a separate video, Lisa gave followers a glimpse at the intimate bash for Isaac, who is a four-star recruit out of Corner Canyon High School, according to 247 Sports.
“All of the people that love Isaac as much as I do showed up to support,” Lisa said in the clip.
Isaac is a 6-foot prospect who currently ranks at No. 22 on 247 Sports’ list of top quarterback recruits in the class of 2024.
“I’ve been a Utah fan since I could remember and then we made that flip with Zach, who did his thing,” Isaac said to 247 Sports.
“But now I’m excited to do my thing, go back to our roots and go back to where my dad played. I couldn’t be more excited to be committed to Utah.”
Patriarch Mike Wilson played on the defensive line at Utah while the 23-year-old Wilson was a member of the BYU Cougars, in addition to siblings Josh and Micah.
Wilson was taken second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He will now start his third season in New York by backing up his childhood idol, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom he has forged a friendship.
“The last couple years he hits me up from time to time during the season,” Rodgers said. “Obviously we’ve spent time together. I love him, I really do.”
The feeling seems to be mutual when it comes to Rodgers as Lisa appeared to celebrate the quarterback’s arrival in an Instagram Story last month following the Jets’ franchise-altering trade with the Green Bay Packers.
