When Britney Spears and Elton Johns musical collaboration “Hold Me Closer” peaked at number one on iTunes hours after its release on Friday, the 40-year-old pop princess posted a cheeky Twitter video featuring the “Tiny Dancer” singer, in which Was told it was going to be “the best day ever” and was expected to be “fine”.
“Hello Sir Elton John, we’re like No. 1 in 40 countries,” Spears, a newcomer, said into the camera in a fake British accent. “Holy s—! I’m in the tub right now and I’m going to have the best day ever and I hope you’re fine.”
This post comes after Spears deleted her Instagram account again. According to Billboard, the “Baby One More Time” singer posted a short clip of “Hold Me Closer” on stage before it was officially released on Friday, along with a caption to John on his collaboration. John replied in the comments: “More than a background singer, darling. Can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’re working on!”
It was not clear why he deleted his Instagram. Prior to this week, she posted mainly on Instagram and had not been active on Twitter since January.

He also replied to her tweet saying, “Hey Britney!! Thanks for this message. You’ve made my day!! Hope everyone has the best day dancing to our song! #HoldMeCloser.”
The song is Spears’ first since her guardianship was terminated last year – at one point she stated that she would not perform on stage until it ended and claimed she needed to remix or remix her songs. New music was not allowed – and for the first time in six years since her 2016 album “Glory”.
Spears gave her thoughts on her musical comeback in a pinned tweet on Wednesday ahead of the release of “Hold Me Closer.”
