Fernando Alonso isn’t quite shaking off those Taylor Swift romance rumors.
The Spanish Formula One driver — who was randomly linked to the pop superstar earlier this month — was asked about recent internet chatter in a new interview with Marca before this weekend’s race in Azerbaijan.
“I usually keep my personal and professional life apart. I prefer not to comment on it,” the 41-year-old Alonso responded when told by Marca, “The Taylor Swift issue is being discussed these days.”
Word of a rumored Alonso-Swift connection first emerged on the gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi.
An anonymous email was published by the account that read, “A couple of Spanish magazines have been posting about TS and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso.
“According to them, the couple has been seeing each other for a week now. Nothing serious tho since they are both recently single.”
Some believe the claims to be unfounded given the note was flagged by Deuxmoi as “entertainment” only.
Speculation continued, however, when Alonso posted a TikTok video of himself sitting in a chair as a revved-up version of Swift’s song, “Karma,” played in the background.
“Race era week,” he captioned the clip, viewed as a potential nod to Swift’s ongoing “Eras Tour” that kicked off in March.
Swift, 33, was at the center of breakup reports earlier this month when she and her longtime beau, actor Joe Alwyn, called it quits after six years of dating.
“It wasn’t dramatic,” a source told Page Six of the split, adding, “[The relationship] just ran its course.”
Alonso is also newly single following a breakup with journalist Andrea Schalger, which he addressed in a social media post this month.
“We have been lucky enough to share a fantastic time together, and it will continue to be so, but on a different form of affection,” he said, according to Page Six.
