Kenny Pickett hopes Taylor Swift can “forgive” him for missing her blockbuster “Eras Tour,” which made its way to Pittsburgh this past weekend.
Ahead of the two-night event at Acrisure Stadium, the Steelers quarterback, 25, revealed he’d be missing Swift’s show as he and his fiancée, Amy Paternoster, are just days away from their summer wedding.
“We’re driving home on Friday to get it all squared away,” Pickett told a reporter about the upcoming nuptials, according to a video shared Friday on the Steelers’ Instagram page.
“But yeah, we’re like 10 days out so, I’m pumped, it’s going to be awesome.”
When the reporter noted his schedule clashed with Swift’s, Pickett said he’s hopeful to make one of her shows in the future.
“I hope she can forgive us, but maybe we’ll be at the next one,” the former first-round pick said.
Swift concluded her two-night tour stop in Pittsburgh on Saturday, with the 12-time Grammy winner set to hit U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis next weekend.
As for Pickett, who is entering his second season with the Steelers, he soon will be saying, “I do,” to Paternoster — roughly a year and a half after getting engaged.
The couple, who announced their engagement in January 2022, have been preparing for the big day for some time.
Last month, Paternoster — a Princeton University graduate and former collegiate soccer player — was celebrated at her bridal shower in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
“Thank you to all of the thoughtful and generous women in my life for showering me with so much love,” the bride-to-be gushed on Instagram at the time.
Paternoster has long been part of Pickett’s football journey, including the moment the Steelers selected the former University of Pittsburgh quarterback with the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
“Words cannot describe how proud I am of you, nor how happy I am to see all of your dreams come true. There is nobody more deserving of this! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you have yet to accomplish. Let’s go home!!!” she exclaimed.
In Pickett’s debut NFL season, he threw for 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions through 13 regular-season games.
He also rushed for three touchdowns.
The Steelers will host the 49ers in their regular-season opener on Sunday, Sept. 10.
