Zach Wilson is getting mocked all the way from the Bahamas during the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday night.
The Jets quarterback was at the center of a joke on NBA Twitter amidst his vacation with girlfriend Nicolette Dellanno.
Some compared him to former Kansas forward Gradey Dick, who made headlines at the draft for his red sequin suit, which was inspired by the famed “The Wizard of Oz” character, Dorothy.
Annie Agar, a content creator and NFL and college football nationwide correspondent at Bally Sports in Chicago, shared a photo of Dick on Twitter with the caption: “Telling my kids this was Zach Wilson.”
Many of her 429,000 Twitter followers had a field day with the tweet.
Agar has poked fun at Wilson in previous videos, and spoofed his mother, Lisa, in her viral Heisman meeting video — which Wilson said was funny in a private message to Agar.
While dreams came true at Barclays Center on Thursday night, Wilson was enjoying some R&R in paradise with a bikini-clad Dellanno.
The influencer, who is a New Jersey native, shared photos of the couple on Instagram — including a solo shot of her modeling a seashell bathing suit with a necklace that had Wilson’s No. 2 on a diamond pendant.
Other photos showed the couple all smiles while posing together outside what appeared to be a luxury resort.
They shared a sweet embrace in one photo, where Dellanno carried a pink Louis Vuitton bag.
Wilson, who’s entering his third season with the Jets, and Dellanno weren’t alone.
Her friends and family appeared in other snaps she shared on Instagram.
Wilson and Dellanno were first linked in June 2022, when they were photographed at a Yankees game together.
The BYU product was previously in a long-term relationship with Abbey Gile, who made headlines in July 2022 after she accused the quarterback of sleeping with a friend of his mother’s.
Wilson will start this season entrenched as Aaron Rodgers’ backup.
After the 23-year-old went through a sophomore slump, with head coach Robert Saleh benching Wilson for Mike White, the Jets publicly pursued Rodgers.
They traded for the 39-year-old last month following an 18-year stint with the Packers.
Rodgers, a four-time league MVP, said he is determined to help Wilson regain his confidence after a rocky campaign.
“I feel like part of my role here is to help him get his confidence back,” Rodgers said last month. “The team believes in him.
“That’s one question I asked: ‘How do you feel about Zach?’ Because I care about his feelings and I care about how he’s viewed. They really believe in him. They think he can be special — and so do I.”
