John McEnroe botched John Travolta-Idina Menzel Oscars jab at Wimbledon

It was an unforced error for John McEnroe.

During an ESPN broadcast of Wimbledon on Monday, cameras panned to actress-singer Idina Menzel in the stands at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, where she caught the first-round matchup between reigning champion Novak Djokovic and Pedro Cachin of Argentina.

As ESPN commentator Chris Fowler remarked on Menzel’s presence, McEnroe took the opportunity to call out John Travolta’s infamous Oscars blunder of Menzel’s name — only to make the mistake himself.

“Here’s a trivia question, what did John Travolta call her?” the seven-time Grand Slam winner asked Fowler, who then laughed.

Travolta made headlines during the 2014 Academy Awards after fumbling Menzel’s name as he introduced the “Frozen” star, 52, to perform the Oscar-winning song, “Let It Go,” from the 2013 Disney blockbuster.

“Please welcome the wickedly talented, one-and-only, Adele Dazeem,” Travolta said at the time.

Despite Monday’s playful callback, McEnroe appeared to experience some difficulty, too,/ in pronouncing Menzel’s name.

A Tony Award winner who captured audiences with her performances in “Rent” and the Broadway smash “Wicked,” Menzel starred as Elsa in the original “Frozen” and its 2019 sequel, “Frozen II.”

Director Judd Apatow and his wife, actress Leslie Mann, were also photographed watching Djokovic’s first-round victory.

Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion from Serbia, defeated Cachin, 6-3, 6-3, 6-7 (7-4).
