Kate Middleton reunited with pal Roger Federer at Wimbledon on Tuesday, not long after the duo engaged in a tennis session before the start of the tournament.
Dressed in a mint green Balmain blazer and a white pleated skirt, the Princess of Wales, 41, smiled beside Federer, also 41, and his wife, Mirka, in the Royal Box at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, where the 20-time Grand Slam winner received a standing ovation from fans.
Federer, who retired from professional tennis last year, won Wimbledon eight times.
Prior to this year’s competition, Federer and Middleton spent time on the court with Wimbledon’s ball boys and girls.
At the time, Middleton appeared to breach Wimbledon protocol when she caught a ball that was about to go out of bounds — a move that appeared to be a misstep, according to Federer.
“Are you allowed to do that?” Federer asked at the time, according to The Sun.
“In Australia, they would catch it, but here in Wimbledon, they don’t.”
Upon asking a ball girl if she was allowed, Middleton was told, “You’re not meant to catch it. You’re meant to let it bounce and then get it, but good catch.”
Elsewhere during the session, Middleton — who is married to Prince William, the second in line to the British throne — showed off her athletic prowess, which impressed many fans online.
“Wow I didn’t know she can play tennis like this!” one commenter exclaimed.
Another remarked, “Brilliant work!!! Both Roger and the Princess of Wales are such Legends!!! To team up like this is a Dream come True!”
Middleton is a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and frequently attends matches with her family.
She and William, 41, watched Novak Djokovic defeat Nick Kyrgios in last year’s men’s singles final with their eldest child, Prince George, 9.
The royal couple also shares daughter Princess Charlotte, 8, and son Prince Louis, 5.
Wimbledon runs through Sunday, July 16.
