Not every Wimbledon fan kept tabs on the court during Matteo Berrettini’s fourth-round match on Monday.
During the Italian ace’s four-set loss to world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, some fans tuning into the match appeared to be captivated by a certain spectator: Berrettini’s girlfriend, model and TV presenter Melissa Satta.
“Melissa Satta a goddess, if you ask me,” one fan posted on Twitter, according to The Sun.
Another remarked how Satta “is a real Queen.”
One fan even likened Satta, 37, and the 27-year-old Berrettini — who made their relationship public this year — to another celebrity pairing.
“Matteo Berrettini and Melissa Satta remind me of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham,” the user wrote.
Berrettini’s hopes of a Wimbledon title were dashed following Monday’s defeat, in which Alcaraz won, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
The Spaniard will next face Denmark’s Holger Rune in Wednesday’s quarterfinal.
Berrettini, who is currently ranked 38th in the world, still made an impressive run after dealing with injury issues in recent months.
Prior to Berrettini’s fourth-round ouster, Satta had been in attendance for several of his matches.
The media personality, who boasts more than four million Instagram followers, is no stranger to igniting chatter on social media.
In a May interview with Vanity Fair, Satta — the ex-wife of German soccer player Kevin Prince-Boateng — addressed the criticism she’s received from fans of Berrettini.
“It was something that had been going on for months, when our story became known in January,” Satta said, according to The Sun. “[They say] ‘Berrettini doesn’t win because Satta is distracting him, she’s too demanding’… But I held back.”
Berrettini missed the Italian and Madrid Open this year due to a muscle tear.
In response to those casting the blame on her, Satta said: “Too bad it’s an injury in the same place as the one in 2021, when I didn’t know him. But in any case: do I really have to answer to these people?”
