Aaron Rodgers busts Zach Wilson over QB’s signature look: ‘Still wearing that?’

Aaron Rodgers is taking his “big brother” duties with Zach Wilson quite literally.

During Tuesday’s installment of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” Rodgers busts Wilson’s chops in the locker room over the third-year quarterback’s signature headband.

“Bro. Still wearing that?” Rodgers, 39, asked Wilson before the Jets’ preseason loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday.

“I have to,” the 24-year-old Wilson responded. “I told you, it’s not a look thing. It’s, I literally sweat in my eyes and can’t see.”

It’s debatable how well Wilson saw the Buccaneers defense, going 9-of-13 for 70 yards, although his 35-yard scramble in the second quarter was impressive.

Rodgers, who landed with the Jets in April following a blockbuster trade with the Packers, is expected to make his debut for Gang Green on Saturday in the preseason finale against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

It will be the first time Rodgers has made a preseason appearance since 2018.

“There’s always that risk-reward. I think over the years it just hasn’t made sense based on a number of different factors,” Rodgers said Tuesday after practice.

“I used to enjoy playing in the preseason in my younger years, just to kind of take that first hit or feel the nerves in the first drive. So I look forward to being out there.”

Head coach Robert Saleh defended the decision, saying, “You can’t coach scared, you can’t play scared. You can slip out of your car and have something happen to you. We’ll be, knock on wood, everyone will be fine.”

Rodgers will make his Jets regular-season debut in primetime when New York hosts the Buffalo Bills on Monday, Sept. 11.
