She’s looking back at music hissss-tory.

Britney Spears revealed Wednesday that she was “scared” when she was handed a massive python while performing her hit “Slave 4 You” at MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2001.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the pop star talked briefly about the performance while plugging her brand-new book, which is set to release next month.

“One of my favorite performances was with an albino python,” wrote Spears, 41, on the social media site. “I still remember how scared I felt when I was handed this snake and took the stage.”

She added: “I talked more about this performance and other favorites in my book #TheWomanInMe … I can’t wait for you to read it on October 24th.”

Several fans slithered into the comment section to praise the singer on the show-stopping set, which has been dubbed a defining moment in pop culture history.

“I bet it added a whole new level of adrenaline to the performance for you,” gushed one X user. “You absolutely killed it though. Who knew, back then, how iconic it would become.”

“You were transcendental, Britney,” said a second user. “Really, there will never be anyone like you. The VMAs were never the same without you performing in it!”

“History was made that day, can’t wait to read your book,” claimed a third fan.

Spears was condemned by The Parents Association of America (PAA) at the time, claiming the performance had a “Toxic” message — and slammed the singer as a “bad role model for young girls.”

“I like wearing those clothes,” Spears, who wore a bejeweled two-piece set for the show, said to Rolling Stone magazine following the controversy. “I like, when I’m onstage, to be an entertainer. When kids are younger and have a recital once a year, that’s their time to go onstage and put on their little costume and do their thing.”

“And that’s what it’s like for me. I put on my cute clothes, and I go onstage and I do it,” Spears continued. “If the song calls for me to wear something a little voluptuous or sexy, I like to go there.”

The iconic pop song peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Top 100 upon its release.

Spears’ new $15 million book comes amid her very public split from husband Sam Asghari.

Earlier this month, Asghari, 29, filed for divorce after rumors started circulating that the “Circus” singer had cheated on him, which reportedly led to a heated argument between the couple. He cited “irreconcilable differences” for the breakup in court documents, according to TMZ.

Asghari later released a statement on his Instagram, claiming “s–t happens.”

“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” Asghari wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”

Additionally, a rep for the personal trainer told The Post: “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos. However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”

A source close to Spears, meanwhile, told The Post that the singer is “doing well” post-split and is “excited about the book and new music.”

“The Woman in Me” is set to hit bookshelves and Amazon on Oct. 24.
