She’s topping the music — and movie — charts.
Taylor Swift was the star of the box office this Friday, with her concert movie “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” raking in a record-breaking $39 million, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.
It is slated to make history as the highest grossing concert film of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film — which chronicles the songstress’ Eras Tour, which began in March and is reportedly earning her $4.1 billion — is also the second-biggest opening day for the month of October, following “The Joker‘s” $39.3 million in 2019.
“The Exorcist: Believer,” which was in the No. 1 spot last Friday, landed in second with $3.77 million in sales.
“Saw X” remained in third, with earnings of $1.78 million. The film’s director, Kevin Greutert, considered the film the final one in the horror franchise.
“We’ll just have to see what the future of ‘Saw’ is,” Greutert told The Hollywood Reporter. “There are so many directions we could go, but for me, there’s no obvious one coming out of this film. I really wanted it to feel like a kind of final send-off for the Jigsaw character, but never say never.”
“PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” which was in second place last week, came in fourth, with a $1.55 million take.
Sci-fi action thriller “The Creator” took fifth, with $1.16 million in sales.
