It is the question that everyone connected with the Chiefs has likely had to answer over the past month.
Are you a Swiftie?
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid got asked the question by NFL legend Donovan McNabb on his Outkick podcast “The 5 Spot.”
While the former Eagles quarterback — who played under Reid in Philadelphia — didn’t seem too thrilled to have to ask Reid the question, it seems that the Chiefs coach is indeed a fan of the pop star.
“Like you, I know her from Philadelphia,” Reid said. “I think her dad is a big NFL fan, so I had met her when she was real young and her dad. I joked about setting [Travis] Kelce up, but I’m just saying.”
The end of the comment elicited a hearty laugh from McNabb.
“She’s a good girl,” Reid continued. “She’s into and we’re glad she’s here.”
Swift’s budding romance with the Chiefs’ star tight end has become one of the biggest stories in football and in the entire pop culture landscape.
The blossoming relationship has brought a new audience to the NFL, which the league has been more than happy to welcome.
Rumors that the pop icon and football player were “hanging out” popped up in September, and not long after that, she appeared at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs as they took on the Bears.
More recently, the two were spotted together out in public in New York over the weekend, which included surprise appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and the couple’s first public display of affection caught on camera while out in Manhattan.
Followers of the romance were even convinced the couple had a secret makeout session in an SUV while on the way to an afterparty following their time on the iconic NBC show.
Kelce had some time on his hands over the weekend since the Chiefs beat the Broncos on Thursday night — with Swift in attendance — and had off over the weekend.
Kansas City next hosts the Chargers on Sunday.
