The Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift relationship is crossing over sports.
Rockets guard Victor Oladipo wrote a motivational statement on his Instagram Story about the couple.
Oladipo let the internet know the importance of finding a partner who inspires and pushes you to do better, citing Swift and Kelce as an example.
“Life’s too short to settle,” Oladipo wrote on Instagram. “Have a queen that can rule with you not just beside you.”
Oladipo’s story was coupled with a post from ESPN.
ESPN captioned the post, “The numbers speak for themselves,” alluding to a CBS graphic that showed the Kansas City tight end has performed better when the pop megastar is in attendance at his games.
Kelce averages 99 yards when Swift is at the game, compared to only 46.5 yards when she is absent, recording back-to-back weeks with 100-plus-yard games.
Not only has Swift been a good luck charm for Kelce, but the Chiefs have won six straight games since dropping the season opener to the Lions in September.
The “Anti-Hero” singer was in attendance for four of Kansas City’s past five wins.
Kelce had 12 catches for 179 yards and one touchdown during the Chiefs’ 31-17 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
So it comes as no surprise that Swift was in a suite in Arrowhead Stadium that day.
Kelce now has five career games with at least 150 receiving yards, joining Shannon Sharpe as the only tight ends in NFL history to reach that mark.
However, Oladipo sees a bigger picture to Kelce’s success.
“It’s not just coming to the games that’s contributing to his success,” Oladipo wrote. “It’s a whole different mentality now.”
Oladipo was drafted in 2013 by the Orlando Magic.
After 10 years in the league, he believes he has a solid understanding of what type of partner will add to your success.
Although he hasn’t shared any public relationship details Oladipo does have a daughter who is almost 2 years old.
