She finally got the last dance.
Julia Stiles made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” during “Weekend Update,” recreating the final dance in “Save the Last Dance” with cast member Chloe Fineman.
The segment begins with Fineman, 35, dressed in a Christmas robe to introduce “sexy” Christmas ideas.
“The perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does at the end of the 2001 movie ‘Save the Last Dance,’” Fineman says while shrugging off the robe to reveal an all-black outfit reminiscent of the one Stiles, 42, wore at the end of the film.
Fineman proceeds to go into a full routine, which she dubs “Street/Ballet,” that recalls the film’s final dance.
She also recaps the movie’s plot, which follows Sara (Stiles), who unsuccessfully auditions for Juilliard, moves to Chicago, and meets Derek (Sean Patrick Thomas), who helps her pursue her Juilliard dreams.
“So does she get into Juilliard?” asks “Weekend Update” co-host Colin Jost, 41.
At that moment, Stiles appears in the same all-black outfit and responds with a resounding “Yes!”
“Sara did get into Juilliard,” Stiles said as “SNL” audience members shrieked in delight.
When asked how she nailed the audition, Stiles says that Jost “didn’t see the end of the dance.”
Following the brief exchange, Fineman yells, “Hit it,” and the pair complete the routine before closing it out with a fist bump.
When Fineman asked what he thought, Jost replied, “Well, I can’t say this on the record yet … but welcome to Juilliard.”
The 2001 film added to the fame Stiles achieved with 1999’s “10 Things I Hate About You” opposite Heath Ledger.
Ledger died in 2008.
Stiles married Preston J. Cook in September 2017.
The “Bourne Identity” actress stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight to raise son Strummer Newcomb Cook, who was born the following month, in October 2017.
Stiles had revealed her pregnancy that June and later tied the knot with Cook in what she called a “shotgun wedding.”
Shortly after giving birth, the “O” actress took aim at social media critics who claimed she was holding her newborn wrong.
“It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn’t expect that,” the 2011 Emmy nominee wrote on Instagram. “What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That’s the internet for you.”
“It was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around,” she continued. “Thanks for the concern, anyway. Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It’s way more fun.”
In November 2021, Stiles and Cook announced they were expecting baby No. 2.
The couple welcomed son Arlo in January 2022.
“Welcome to the world, Baby Arlo! The newest addition to our family, reminding me how infinite love can be,” Stiles captioned a photo on Instagram of her child’s feet.
“Scroll Forward to see how my 4-year-old is taking it…” Stiles added, showing a photo of Strummer covering a bathroom toilet in red marker.
She has since returned to Hollywood, starring in the Amazon Prime comedy “The Lake” as of late.
