‘Night Swim’ makes big splash at the box office

“Night Swim” made a splash at the box office.

The supernatural horror film took home first place on its opening night Friday, with $5.22 million in sales, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

Deadline said the film, which stars Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon and centers around a family’s discovery that their pool is haunted, “falls off the deep end.”

“Wonka” moved down a notch to second place, where it enjoyed sales of $4.3 million.

This week, the Timothee Chalamet-led musical fantasy set a milestone, reaching $400 million in worldwide sales, Screenrant reported.

The rom-com “Anyone But You,” which was in fifth place last Friday, moved up to third, with a $3.25 million take.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” landed in fourth place with $3.1 million in sales, after being in the No. 2 spot last Friday.

This week, one of the film’s stars, Amber Heard, expressed her gratitude to fans for the success of the sequel via Instagram.

“After all this time, Aquaman 2 made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy). Thank you to all of my fans for the overwhelming support and love in Mera’s AQ return,” she captioned the post.

Illumination’s “Migration,” an animated adventure comedy about a family of traveling mallards, flew down to fifth place, taking in $2.95 million.
