The next round is on Adam Schenk.
On the first day of play in The American Express at Pete Dye Stadium Course, Schenk sent his second shot on the par-5 15th hole right into a spectator’s drink.
Fan Brad Harmeyer raised the cup — filled with a vodka cranberry, per the PGA Tour — and drank from it, with the ball still floating inside.
Whatever Harmeyer toasted, it worked for Schenk, who was given free relief, pitched to 10 feet out and then drained a birdie putt.
“I owe you a drink,” Schenk said, before autographing the unique piece or memorabilia for Harmeyer.
“You have a nice look at (the hole) right here,” Harmeyer said.
“That’s right,” Schenk said. “I’m very sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry about,” Harmeyer told him.
Before all was said an done, the pair got a photo together — and his wife, Kourtney, following him on the course, snapped a pic of Harmeyer’s cup.
“Good birdie from here, Adam,” she posted on X.
Schenk’s luck quickly ran out, however.
On the 17th hole, the American tee shot went into the water hazard before he finished the par-3 with a bogey.
He ended the round tied for 98th at 2-under, eight strokes behind leaders Zach Johnson and Alex Soren.
