There’s room for more than one queen on “The Equalizer” if series star Queen Latifah gets her wish.
Latifah, 53, told Entertainment Tonight that she wants Dolly Parton to guest star on her CBS series “The Equalizer,” which kicks off its fourth season Sunday, Feb. 18 on CBS.
And, apparently, it almost happened last season on the hit series.
“I would love to get Dolly Parton on this show,” she told ET. “We came very close to being able to make it happen last year.
“So I don’t know if we’ll be able to do it this year, but I would love to get Dolly on.”
Latifah and Parton, 78, have worked together before on the 2012 movie “Joyful Noise” with co-stars Keke Palmer, Courtney B. Vance and Kris Kristofferson.
“She was just the most amazing person,” Latifah told ET. “She’s just a real down-to-earth, cool person who’s inspired me since I was a little girl … she kicks butt, too.
“She’s just as funky as anybody,” she added. “So I would love to get Dolly on here. I’ll just put it out there. That’s my girl. I just love her.”
Latifah said that the fourth season of “The Equalizer” will keep fans of the action-packed series satisfied.
“We are going to give the people what they need,” she told ET. “You will get the family, the love [and] you will get all the action you can handle.
“You are going to get explosions. You are going to get people diving and ducking and all that good stuff.”
“The Equalizer,” a rebooted version of the ’80s CBS action series starring Edward Woodward, premiered in February 2021 — following Super Bowl LV on CBS — and snared 20.4 million viewers.
The series co-stars Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, Laya DeLeon Hayes and Lorraine Toussaint.
Parton, meanwhile, is focused on finding someone to tell her life story on Broadway, according to People.
“Right now, I’m working on my life story as a musical, and so going on Broadway and opening my show on Broadway, that’s been a biggie [goal] in my mind for many many years,” she told the publication in a January interview.
“That’d be the one that I want to make certain I get done while I’m still kicking, while I’m around to stay involved in it,” she added.
Parton hopes to make her musical happen by “late ’25” and, meanwhile, is considering holding a “Finding Dolly” talent search to find the perfect person to play her.
