Zach Wilson’s girlfriend is excited about the quarterback’s next NFL chapter.
Hours after news broke Monday that the former first-round pick had been traded from the Jets to the Broncos as part of a late-round pick swap, Nicolette Dellanno took to her Instagram Story to celebrate her boyfriend’s move to Denver.
Re-sharing a post from the NFL’s Instagram page highlighting Wilson’s trade, Dellanno added a trio of orange heart emojis to her Story, a nod to the Broncos’ colors.
Much like Dellanno — a New Jersey-bred model who was first linked to the quarterback in 2022 — Wilson’s family had a jubilant reaction to Monday’s news, which occurred less than two months after Jets general manager Joe Douglas permitted him to seek a trade.
“Excited for a fresh start. Let’s Go!” Wilson’s mom Lisa posted in an Instagram Story, which featured her 24-year-old son in a Broncos uniform.
She added in a separate post: “Surround yourself with people [that] love you, cheer for you and want you to succeed.”
It had been a turbulent tenure in New York for Wilson, who was drafted second overall in 2021.
He posted a 12-21 record with the Jets.
Though he was expected to sit in 2023 as the Jets acquired future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers from the Packers, Wilson was thrust into the action in Week 1 after the four-time league MVP ruptured his Achilles just four plays into his Jets career.
Wilson was benched late in the season but returned for a dominant 30-6 win over the Texans in Week 14, perhaps his best performance as a Jet.
He started the following week against the Dolphins before exiting early with a head injury in the crushing 30-0 loss.
It would be Wilson’s final game in a Jets uniform.
Now a member of the Broncos — who received a seventh-round pick (No. 256) from the Jets, who in turn got a sixth-rounder (No. 203) — Wilson enters an organization that has many questions surrounding the quarterback position.
Although the Broncos have journeymen Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci, it’s widely expected that Denver will be in the mix for a quarterback as the 2024 NFL Draft begins Thursday.
Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix could be targeted with the No. 12 pick, as The Post’s Steve Serby projects in his latest mock draft.
