Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash’s stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s cause of death has been revealed.
The Post can exclusively report that the 25-year-old died from hydrogen sulfide toxicity. The manner of her death is suicide, confirmed by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday.
Hydrogen sulfide is a poisonous, flammable gas that can be toxic to humans. Symptoms of acute exposure to the gas can include nausea, headaches, delirium, disturbed equilibrium, tremors, convulsions, and skin and eye irritation, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
High exposure can cause rapid unconsciousness and death.
“Ms. Knight was found unresponsive in a private residence on July 19 by law enforcement conducting a welfare check. Death was pronounced at 1500 hours,” the coroner’s office told The Post. “An examination was performed by a deputy medical examiner on July 22. The cause of death was certified on August 29.”
Knight’s cause of death was initially deferred as additional testing was required.
Slash, aka Saul Hudson, 59, shared news of Knight’s death on Instagram.
In his post, Slash described Knight as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”
He added that she “passed away peacefully.”
The rock and roll legend considered Knight a stepsister to his biological children: sons London, 22, and Cash, 20.
Slash asked for “privacy” and that “social media speculation be kept to a minimum” as him and his family “grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Knight was the daughter of Slash’s longtime partner, Meegan Hodges, and her ex, Mark Knight. Slash first dated Hodges in 1989 and then rekindled their relationship in 2015.
Hodges posted the same message as Slash at the same time on her Instagram account.
Hours before announcing the news of Knight’s death, Slash canceled several dates for his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. blues music tour, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
Shows from July 22 to July 27 were affected, and ticket holders were guaranteed refunds.
The tour, in support of Slash’s solo album “Orgy of the Damned,” is set to resume on Sunday, July 28 in Toronto.
“We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused,” Slash added in his statement.
Bizarrely, a post went live on Knight’s Instagram just hours after the rocker revealed she had passed, showing her wearing glasses and looking away from the camera. It also included a cryptic caption.
“Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry,” Knight wrote.
“Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable,” she added. “May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace🌷.”
One day after the post went up, Hodges commented, “MY BABY GIRL 🕊️🤍 I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I’M SO SORRY.”
Shortly after, Slash’s son, London, from his marriage to his ex Perla Ferrar, paid tribute to Knight in an Instagram post of his own.
“This f—ing sucks. You will be missed forever Lucy, I love you so much,” he wrote alongside several photos with Knight.
His mother, Ferrar, commented, “There are no words for this loss baby. I’m so sorry for all of you. Especially Lucy.”
“Let’s all learn from this experience, support and love one another,” she continued. “After all love and family is what truly matters. I love you.”
Hodges also commented, writing, “It hurts so bad.” She added, “we are gonna get through this together. All of us.”
“Wrapping my arms around you and hugging you so tight,” she concluded.
