It took a long time for Angelina Jolie to find her voice again.

The Oscar winner, 49, told The Hollywood Reporter that she didn’t sing for a while before her new film “Maria” because one of her exes criticized her voice.

“It was an out-of-body experience because I don’t sing,” Jolie said in the interview published Friday. “I had somebody in my life who was not kind to me about singing. It was a relationship I was in. And so I just assumed I couldn’t really sing.”

“I’d been to theater school, so it was weird that it even had an effect on me,” she continued. “I just kind of adapted to this person’s opinion. So it took me getting past a lot of things to start singing.”

Jolie’s exes include her former husbands Jonny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton and Brad Pitt.

She was married to Miller, 51, from 1996 to 1999.

Last but not least, Jolie’s romance with Pitt began in 2005 when they fell in love on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” They tied the knot in 2014 but separated two years later after an alleged violent argument on a plane.

Brangelina’s divorce settlement negotiations are still ongoing. The exes share three biological children, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, and three adopted children, sons Maddox, 23, and Pax, 20, and daughter Zahara, 19.

While doing press for “Maria,” Jolie was reportedly asked about her divorce from Pitt, but she immediately shut down the question.

Jolie and Pitt’s contentious divorce includes fighting over custody of their children, division of assets and their legal battle over the sale of their French winery.

The “Eternals” actress notably accused Pitt of being abusive towards her and their children, which he has denied.

Pitt appears to be estranged from his six kids. Some of the Jolie-Pitt children have even gone as far as dropping their father’s surname.

In “Maria,” directed by Pablo Larraín, Jolie stars as the late opera singer Maria Callas.

She burst into tears when the film received an 8-minute standing ovation at Venice Film Festival on August 29.

In her interview with THR, Jolie said she learned a lot about her voice during the seven months that she learned how to sing opera.

“I thought I had a low voice my whole life. I was explaining [to the singing instructor] that my voice is deeper, and he said, ‘No, you’re actually a soprano,’ ” she shared.

“And probably something happened. Your voice changes when you go through different things in your life. So that was a shock. That was very strange,” Jolie added.

She also revealed that her sons Maddox and Pax were on set with her when she was filming “Maria.”

“I have never had a set where my family is not allowed to be there because I’m focusing — I’m not that person,” she explained. “You can climb all over me or visit. It really meant a lot that my boys were with me on ‘Maria.’ When I would have really heavy times, they would come over and just give me a hug or a cup of tea.”

“That was probably one of the more intense things was that —usually when I’m expressing that much pain, it’s not in front of my children,” Jolie went on. “You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you carry. And so for them to be with you when you’re expressing it at such a level, I think it was the first time they ever heard me cry like that. That’s usually for the shower.”
