Rosie O’Donnell is speaking out after her oldest daughter’s third arrest in three months.
Chelsea O’Donnell, 27, was taken into custody in Wisconsin’s Marinette County on Nov. 18 on two felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, a felony count of possession of narcotic drugs and two felony counts of bail jumping, according to People magazine.
The outlet also reported that Chelsea faces four misdemeanor charges for resisting or obstructing a police officer, possession of an illegally obtained prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rosie wasted no time addressing her daughter’s arrest and drug addiction, telling her Instagram followers that she hopes Chelsea will get the “help she needs.”
“So yes this is true,” the “A League of Their Own” actress, 62, captioned an Instagram screenshot on Tuesday of a reporter asking her to comment about Chelsea’s latest arrest via email.
“After being bailed out by her birth mother – chelsea was arrested again – and is facing many charges related to her drug addiction,” Rosie continued. “We all hope she is able to get the help she needs to turn her life around – #drug-addiction #tragic #sadness #truth.”
Chelsea’s latest arrest is her third time behind bars in just three months.
The mother of four was taken into custody on Sept. 10 and Oct. 11 on charges related to drug possession and felony child neglect, reported People.
On Sept. 24, Rosie’s daughter posted a $2,000 bond and was released from Marinette County Jail; however, she didn’t stay out of jail for long.
The following month, she was arrested and booked into Oconto County Jail.
Chelsea faces felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs and bail jumping, and misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia — similar to the charges of her latest arrest.
She pleaded not guilty to charges related to her Sept. 10 arrest and an arraignment has reportedly been scheduled for Dec. 11 over her Nov. 18 arrest.
She’s due in court on Jan. 27, 2025.
Rosie broke her silence in October following Chelsea’s second arrest.
“Chelsea is in the news today – this is a photo from a better time,” the comedian posted on social media with a photo of Chelsea holding a newborn baby. “Sadly this is not new for our family.
“Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade – we r all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”
Rosie adopted Chelsea with her ex-wife Kelli Carpenter as a baby following her 1997 birth. The former couple have three other adopted children: sons Parker and Blake and daughter Vivienne.
Rosie has another adopted daughter, Dakota, with her second wife, Michelle Rounds.
