Game over.
Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, one of the most recognized women in the gaming space, confirmed that her scene was cut from the newly released “A Minecraft Movie” — six months after she coincidentally spoke out against the film’s star Jason Mamoa’s alleged on-set behavior.
“I would much rather not have that 30 seconds than be sued, so it’s all good,” Hofstetter confirmed in a recent Twitch stream. “It really was a wonderful 10 days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds and I’m really glad I got to visit New Zealand. I feel like things could’ve been so much worse.”
She added that it wasn’t Minecraft’s fault for her scene being cut and that “as much as you guys saw the other creators in it would have been the equal amount you saw me in it which is like 30 seconds.”
The Post has reached out to the film’s producers and Momoa’s reps for comment.
In September, Hofstetter openly accused Momoa of creating a poor work environment and behaving badly during the filming of the movie.
During a podcast appearance with YouTuber JasonTheWeen, Hofstetter was asked to share her “worst celebrity or streamer experience.”
“I will say the name,” Hofstetter replied before name-dropping Momoa.
The content creator paused to get her thoughts together before elaborating on the incident.
“I just saw him, like, mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing,” she claimed. “I do, it was after a very intense scene and a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character, I don’t know but I was just kind of surprised by how he treated like some of the crew.”
Hofstetter went into detail when the host asked her to describe her experience with the “Aquaman” star.
“He was just really mad at them that they weren’t doing something right,” Hofstetter shared. “It was like setting up the shot and stuff. It was just angry. Like really mad and like yelling.
“I was like ‘Man this is like not a good environment, Iike, I would not be happy working under these conditions,’” the content creator added.
The movie, inspired by the popular game, debuted on April 4 and featured stars like Jack Black and Jennifer Coolidge, in addition to Momoa.
Momoa plays Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison in the gaming film, which has scored $157 million at the box office during its opening weekend in the US and Canada, according to the Associated Press.
The actor was previously criticized for his on-set behavior in 2023’s “Aquaman 2” film in an exposé published by Variety.
The piece alleged that he got drunk and tried to have Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, kicked off the film.
It further alleged that Momoa tried to provoke his co-star by trying to dress like her ex-husband, who won a highly publicized defamation trial against Heard after she accused Depp of abuse.
