Sean McVay tells inside story of Odell Beckham, Ed Orgeron crashing his wedding

McVay told Taylor Lewan and Will Compton that Oregeron showed up by complete happenstance, as he was staying at the same Beverley Hills Hotel that McVay and Khomyn were having their reception.

“Peter Schrager, a good buddy of mine, he comes up to me — so a bunch of guys are at the pool,” McVay said. “Eddie O is there and they’re like, ‘Man, we didn’t know you were boys with Eddie O. Eddie O is invited to the wedding?’

“I’m like, ‘He’s the man, but no.’ He was this celebrity at the wedding, man. He is full personality.”

Beckham starred at LSU before Orgeron would ultimately lead program to national championship.

Later on, Beckham arrived — though McVay said his cameo was far more intentional.

“He texted me the day of and he’s like, ‘Man, congratulations on the wedding,’” McVay siad. “I’m like, ‘Thanks, man. I appreciate you.’ He’s like, ‘My invite must have gotten lost in the mail.’

“And then I remember I saw Neal Elattrache and he comes up to me and he and Odell have a relationship,” McVay said. “And he’s like, ‘I think Odell might just show up.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ He’s like, ‘I told him where the wedding was.’ I’m like, ‘That’ll be great.’ 

“So, Odell does show up.” 

McVay said Beckham, who was a key part of the 2022 Rams Super Bowl team, brought his own bottle of tequila and ended up being “one of the major lives of the party.”

“So it was a well-welcomed wedding crasher,” McVay said. “But hey, he had the courage to show up and say, ‘I don’t give a s—t.’”

Seems like all parties have remained close since the bash — McVay said he still keeps in touch with Beckham — now an NFL free agent — and Orgeron called McVay a “champ” on X on Wednesday morning.
