Yankees rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. and Jackie Taylor, the daughter of late Redskins safety Sean Taylor, have been dating since at least January 2025, according to PDA snapshots of the pair posted to his Instagram.
The Yankees’ top prospect and Taylor, who plays Division I volleyball at UNC Chapel Hill, were hugging while watching a sunset by the ocean, as seen in his carousel post.
One snapshot showed the pair on a paddle board together in the water.
Lombard sported a sweatshirt with Jackie’s image on the back while supporting her at a UNC volleyball game in another photo.
She added the photos to a highlight reel on her Instagram, titled, “My people” — which included an image of the pair celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2025.
“I love you,” Taylor wrote.
They attended an event for the Sean Taylor Legacy Project when the Washington Commanders faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game in January 2025.
The couple were tagged in the image with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian while at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Jackie leads The Sean Taylor Legacy Project, which honors her father, who died in November 2007 after being shot during a robbery attempt at his Florida home. He was 24.
She has stayed close with the Washington Commanders franchise after her father’s death.
Other social media posts suggest that Lombard and Taylor might’ve gotten together in 2024. Both went to Gulliver Prep High School in Miami.
Her highlight also featured posts congratulating him on various career accomplishments in 2025, such as his Yankees promotion from High-A Hudson Valley to Double-A Somerset at age 19 that May.
“No one more deserving! So proud of you!” she wrote, including a red heart emoji.
Lombard is finding his footing in the majors since the Yankees promoted him from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after the trade deadline in August.
On Sunday, Lombard reposted that Taylor had 165 blocks last season for the UNC women’s volleyball team, third most in program history.
The 21-year-old shortstop is “day to day” after exiting a 9-2 Yankees victory over the Red Sox early with right knee discomfort on Saturday, according to manager Aaron Boone.
Medical imaging showed no structural damage.
The Yankees begin a three-game series with the Angels in Los Angeles on Monday.
