BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier went viral for all the wrong reasons after the Cougars’ 28-17 win over Arizona in Week 2.
During the Fox Sports broadcast, college football analyst Robert Griffin III claimed Bachmeier told him that his family sometimes eats dinner together without their clothes.
The former NFL quarterback took it there when the broadcast showed Bachmeier’s mom, April, in the stands at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah.
“He [Bear] told us that at the dinners, you know, sometimes they just, they just take the clothes off and they walk around naked,” Griffin said during the fourth quarter, as seen in a clip making the rounds on Blue Sky.
“You naked at your dinners with the family?”
Play-by-play announcer Connor Onion responded, “Do I have to answer that?”
Both Griffin and Onion were not shown on the broadcast during this exchange.
“You don’t have to answer that because I don’t think anybody listening right now really kind of does that,” Griffin said.
“America, it’s up to your imagination,” Onion added.
Griffin did not elaborate.
Bachmeier and his brother Tiger, a wide receiver for the Cougars, have yet to address Griffin’s comments which just went viral on Wednesday — nearly two weeks after the game.
Bachmeier threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns to in No. 15 BYU’s second straight win on Sept. 12. He also ran for a touchdown.
The Cougars’ demolished Utah Tech 63-7 in Week 1, and beat Colorado State 41-23 on Saturday.
