Brittany Mahomes heard Raiders coach Klint Kubiak’s halftime message and kept receipts after the Chiefs’ 30-27 win in Las Vegas on Sunday.
“We’re winning. We’re gonna win the game,” Brittany wrote in an Instagram post, clearly taking inspiration from Kubiak — who confidently said his team would win the AFC West clash while up by three points at the half.
“Not good enough,” Kubiak said when CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson mentioned the Raiders had only 17 rushing yards in the first half.
“Gotta be better, but you know what? We’re winning. We’re gonna win the game.”
Brittany, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, included snapshots of her posing on the sideline at Allegiant Stadium after the Chiefs improved to 4-0 on the season.
The Raiders carried a 13-10 lead into the fourth quarter, but couldn’t get the run game going.
Las Vegas’ running game produced just 72 yards, averaging 2.8 per carry.
The Chiefs scored three touchdowns for 20 points in the fourth quarter to hand Las Vegas its first loss of the season.
Mahomes finished 15 of 30 for 225 yards with two touchdowns — both to Tyquan Thornton, who was carted off with a gruesome ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
“The guys just stayed with it,” Mahomes said. “It’s not always going to be pretty. That’s a good football team, a good defense.
“It’s not always going to be lighting it up and going out there and scoring 50 points. If you stay with the process, it’s going to come.”
The Chiefs have a bye in Week 5 before they host the winless Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18.
