On Sunday night, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to have the most passing touchdowns with two franchises.
Stafford threw for three passing touchdowns during the Rams’ 35-21 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The third and final one was a pass to Puka Nacua in the second quarter, which was a franchise-record 155th passing touchdown of Stafford’s Rams tenure.
Stafford tallied 282 touchdowns during his 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions, which is also a franchise record.
Stafford celebrated this huge achievement with his four daughters and his wife, Kelly, who were watching the Rams’ game in person on Sunday.
After the game, Stafford went over to his family and threw the game ball to his daughter.
However, she didn’t seem to grasp what was doing on, as she threw the ball back to him in a hilarious and wholesome mistake.
Then Stafford threw it back to her before seemingly explaining that she was supposed to keep the historic game ball. The 38-year-old showed love to his wife and other daughters before walking away.
The Rams’ social media accounts posted the video of this hilarious exchange with the caption, “Matthew giving the game ball to his daughters 😭”.
Ultimately, the historic ball fell into the right hands, even if it took a bit for them to remain there.
