Aryna Sabalenka appeared to confirm a new relationship with Georgios Frangulis, the CEO of Açaí brand Oakberry, while in Italy for the Italian Open over the weekend.
The 26-year-old Belarusian pro — who lost to Poland’s Iga Swiatek in Saturday’s Rome final — and Frangulis held hands while at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola the next day, as seen in a video she posted on her Instagram page.
It came nearly two months after Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend, former NHL player Konstantin Koltsov, died of an “apparent suicide,” according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
His death was confirmed by Russian club Salavat Yulaev Ufa, where he was an assistant coach for the past two seasons.
Sabalenka and Frangulis posed for photos with the Haas F1 Team, who is sponsored by his company, Oakberry.
The brand announced a partnership with Sabalenka in January.
Sabalenka, a two-time Grand Slam winner, thanked Frangulis for his support and blew him a kiss during a speech on the court after her 6-2, 6-3 loss to Swiatek.
“Of course last but not least I wanna thank my team for helping me lose another final,” she joked. “And just like I promised, Georgios, thank you for your support.”
Sabalenka then made a heart gesture with her hands and blew a kiss in Frangulis’ direction.
The entrepreneur, who was all smiles while sitting with her team in the stands, raised his hands and made a heart gesture back at her.
The couple also enjoyed a group dinner with her team at Taverna Trilussa on Saturday, per The Daily Mail.
It is unclear how long they have been dating.
Koltsov and Sabalenka were first linked in June 2021, according to People.
Koltsov was said to be dating Sabalenka at the time of his death, but she explained in a note on Instagram that the two were broken up.
“Konstantin’s death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken,” Sabalenka wrote at the time. “Please respect my privacy and his family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
Koltsov died died of an apparent suicide, according to police, which said investigators were dispatched to the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort “in reference to a male that jumped from a balcony” on March 18.
