‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ keeps leads at box office

This blockbuster is keeping its head way above water.

For the third consecutive week, “Avatar: The Way of Water” swam its way to the top of the box office.

On Friday alone, it raked in more than $24 million in sales. It is estimated to enjoy a $87 million four-day weekend, according to Deadline.

Following in second place for the second week in a row is “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” which took home close to $6.5 million.

The “Shrek” spinoff starring Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek already surpassed $50 million at the global box office, as per Collider.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” moved up a notch this week, ranking in third with just over a $1.8 million-dollar take. The Marvel flick just made history as the highest-ever grossing female-led superhero movie.

In fourth place was “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” The musical drama, based on the life of the late “I Will Always Love You” songstress, earned close to $1.5 million.

“Babylon” the epic period comedy-drama starring Brad Pitt, trailed behind in fifth with $935,000 in sales.
