Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took a jab at Will Compton after learning that Travis Kelce dropped out of the company’s Beer Olympics, taking place on June 25 in Las Vegas.

During the latest installment of his “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast with former NFL offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, Compton explained that he received a call from the All-Pro Chiefs tight end, who said he can’t attend their annual Bussin’ with the Boys Beer Olympics.

“At least the entire company wasn’t running around with chickens with our heads cut off to accommodate them,” Portnoy wrote in a post on X, which included a clip of Compton discussing the situation. “Poor @JeffDLowe had to move the Dozen to Siberia in the dead of winter to accomodate.”

Portnoy was referring to “The Dozen: Trivia Competition,” which is Barstool’s popular trivia show hosted by Lowe, where employees team up against each other.

This has been an ongoing issue with Portnoy, who previously ripped Compton for scheduling the Beer Olympics on the same day as the Dozen.

“Will Compton booked the f–king the Beer Olympics on top of the Dozen,” Portnoy said on the “Barstool Yak” in February.

“This is my nightmare,” Compton said, to which Portnoy replied: “But why would you book first… the Dozen was booked there first and then you booked it on top of it and no one told me until after… I couldn’t believe I found out about this scheduling conflict today.”

Portnoy and Compton went back and forth trying to secure a date that worked, but didn’t reach a resolution at the time.

“I can’t help that they are both scheduled at the same time, we’ve done it at the same time the last two years,” Compton said, adding that he had to work with NFL players’ schedules who participate in the event.

Portnoy went on to call it “bulls–t” and said he didn’t understand why Compton couldn’t find another day to hold the Beer Olympics.

Portnoy’s latest comments came in response to Compton explaining Tuesday that he had a “brutal phone call” with Kelce.

“Travis Kelce just called to let us know that he can’t do Beer Olympics,” Compton said. “But hey, onward and upward. We lost a good soldier. Two good soldiers.”

Compton was referring to Kelce’s big brother, Jason, who announced his retirement after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles in March and was also planning to be part of the event.

“That hurts,” someone said repeatedly in the background.

Dan Katz, co-host of Barstool’s popular “Pardon My Take” podcast, also needled Compton over the news.

“Really sad the Kelces are out for beer Olympics,” Katz wrote on X. “The good news is the boys didn’t move everyone’s schedule around at Barstool for them to attend.”

Compton joined “The Yak” later to explain that the Beer Olympics were only moved a couple of days to accommodate the Kelces and it would always be around the 25th.

Compton said that the Kelces did provide a reason, though he was unable to share it with the audience.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and DeForest Buckner, a defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts, won the 2023 Bussin’ WTB Beer Olympics, and he agreed to participate in this year’s event.

Other participants last year included Green Bay Packers offensive lineman David Bakhtiari and tight end Tucker Kraft, singer/songwriter Jelly Roll, and Fox Sports rules analyst Dean Blandino.

Lewan, the ex-NFL offensive lineman and “Bussin’ With The Boys” co-host, also heads up the Beer Olympics with Compton.

Kelce has yet to publicly address the news.
