Texas fans weren’t the only ones feeling a loss Saturday.
ESPN reporter Ashley ShahAhmadi captured the public’s attention during Georgia’s 22-19 victory in overtime against the Longhorns in the SEC championship game — with one admirer even proposing marriage in a question that fell flat.
“I love you. Marry me?” one person wrote on X, according to People.
Another person said they were “devastated” upon learning ShahAhmadi is married and posted a zoomed-in photo of her engagement ring and wedding band on X.
“After replay assistance I am devastated,” they wrote.
Taking to X on Saturday, ShahAhmadi posted a collection of photos from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, including the Dr. Pepper halftime challenge she hosted.
Two contestants had to throw as many footballs into a large Dr. Pepper can to win $100,000 in tuition money.
ShahAhmadi, who looked beautiful in a sleeveless brown top and a matching miniskirt, has yet to directly address the added attention.
“Well tonight was fun !!” she wrote on X.
ShahAhmadi got married in October 2023, as seen in an Instagram post commemorating her wedding day.
Despite the loss to Georgia, Texas still advanced to the College Football Playoff following Sunday’s expanded bracket reveal.
They fifth-seeded Longhorns face Clemson in the first round, while the second-seeded Georgia will play the winner of the Notre Dame-Indiana clash in the quarterfinals.
