‘Gilmore Girls’ star Adam Wylie reportedly arrested for shoplifting at Target

“Gilmore Girls” star Adam Wylie was accused of shoplifting over $100 worth of merchandise at a California Target earlier this month.

According to TMZ, the former child star was spotted by Target’s loss prevention team loading his cart with several health and beauty products alongside other items.

Burbank Police later told the outlet that Wylie, 39, then proceeded to the self-checkout area but only scanned a few items from his cart before attempting to flee the store.

Once outside, the “Picket Fences” star was nabbed by security.

According to officers, Wylie had attempted to make off with $108 dollars worth of merchandise only to have authorities arrive and cite the actor with petty theft before letting him go.

The Post has contacted Burbank police to confirm the charges and also Wylie for comment.

According to the actor’s IMBD page, he enjoyed a rather successful stint on television enjoying various gigs including his most notable role as Brad Langford in the hit 2000’s drama.

Wylie also found success on the stage having starred in the 2002 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” on Broadway.

Recently, Wylie starred in “Under Wraps 2,” the sequel to his 1997 film of the same name.

When not acting, the “Lucifer” actor has found success as a magician, conjuring nearly 1.4 million followers on TikTok and even securing a role on third season of “Masters of Illusion.”

Since the incident, the actor has come under fire from fans on social media begging him to answer why he allegedly committed the crime.

“Was this posted before or after you shoplifted,” one user roasted on an Instagram post dated the same day as the crime.

“Why did you shoplift at Target,” another user asked on his TikTok.

Another user jumped to the actors aid, slamming the nosey question.

“Why did you come here and ask him that it’s none of your business,” the user replied. “And if, and when he’s ready, he will tell people what happened or not.”
