Harry and Meghan ‘know they’ve gone too far’ in royals attacks: source

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world in 2020 when they decided to take a step back as “senior members” of the royal family.

Since making the big #Megxit to Montecito, California shortly after, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a slew of projects where they disdainfully discussed their time in “The Firm.”

Royal expert Tom Bower now claims the former actress, 38, and the Invictus Games founder, 41, “know they’ve probably gone too far” with combative content after their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” and Harry’s bombshell memoir “Spare.”

“All she’s got is the baggage of the Oprah Winfrey interview and her damnation of the royal family in various successive interviews,” Bower told OK about Markle. “That’s why she’s been so quiet the whole year. She knows they’ve probably gone too far, and she doesn’t know how to get out of it now.”

The “Rebel King” author also pondered: “What is fascinating is how will it end? What will the climax be?”

Bower’s comments were echoed by Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell earlier this month, who noted that Markle and Harry “misunderstood what was expected of them” with their media deals.

The duo signed a $20 million-plus deal between their Archewell Audio and Spotify in 2020, however, they lost out on the contract last month.

Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast was also not renewed for Season 2.

The “Suits” star and the former military serviceman also penned an agreement in 2020 to create shows with Netflix, to the tune of about $100 million, according to reports.

Burrell, 65, also claimed that the two are only in the limelight for being royals — and their media projects are mostly failing to ride on the coattails of that concept.

“Both Spotify and Netflix wanted royal content,” he said. “After all, that’s what they’re famous for. Both Netflix and Spotify signed up for that content, for their story, for their experience with the royal family and sadly, I think it’s been shortcoming.”

“How long will it be before Netflix realizes, well, this couple haven’t really got much to say?” he wondered.

The “A Royal Duty” memoirist then suggested that Markle and Harry should “reinvent themselves” as some fans are “no longer interested” in their story.
