Jada Pinkett Smith reacts to school pal Tupac Shakur’s murder suspect arrest

The rap world cheered when a suspect in the 1996 murder of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was arrested on Sept. 29.

Now, the “Changes” singer’s longtime friend, Jada Pinkett Smith, has reacted to the news.

The “Gotham” actress, 52, wrote on her Instagram Stories that she looks forward to a resolution, 27 long years after Shakur’s shock passing.

“Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure,” Smith penned. “R.I.P. Pac.”

Smith and Shakur were close pals from early on, having met as teenagers in Baltimore. The two attended the city’s acclaimed public, arts-focused high school together.

The “Poetic Justice” actor was famously — and mysteriously — gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip in September 1996, after watching the Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand.

Las Vegas police arrested Duane “Keffe D” Davis on Friday regarding the drive-by shooting of the “California Love” singer.

Sources told The Post that Davis will face a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

Davis and Death Row Records executive Suge Knight were both witnesses to the homicide of Shakur, who was only 25 when he died.

Davis previously revealed that he was one of the four people in the white Cadillac that pulled next to Shakur’s BMW, and rolled down their windows to shoot the West Coast rap icon.

However, in his 2019 memoir “Compton Street Legends,” he claimed that his nephew, Orlando Anderson, was the one who killed Shakur.

Anderson was a member of the South Side Compton Crips gang. He passed away in 1998 during another shooting.

He denied involvement in Shakur’s murder and was never charged before he passed away.

In July, Las Vegas police executed a search warrant on a Henderson, Nevada home in connection to Shakur’s murder.

Smith always appeared to have held a torch for the fallen musical legend, saying in a 2009 interview about the first time they met at school: “It was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself. Definitely from looking at him, wasn’t necessarily the type of cat that I would even like, deal with.”

“But as soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet,” she said. “Once you paid attention to him he kind of sucked you in. And we hit it off from that moment on.”
