Jalen Hurts is peeling back the curtain on his personal life.
In a new cover story for Essence, the Eagles quarterback — who agreed to a record-breaking five-year, $255 million contract extension with the team Monday — spoke about girlfriend Bryonna “Bry” Burrows following their public appearance together at the NFC Championship game in January.
“I’m not married or anything like that,” the 24-year-old Hurts said. “But I am spoken for.”
Hurts has been dating Burrows on and off since their college days at the University of Alabama, where the quarterback played for three seasons before transferring to the Univesrity of Oklahoma in 2019.
Burrows, who works as an IT professional, joined Hurts at Lincoln Financial Field after Philadelphia defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 31-7, to punch its ticket to Super Bowl 2023.
The Eagles ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 38-35, in February’s championship matchup.
With Hurts now gearing up for his fourth season with the Eagles, he’s grateful to have Burrows by his side.
“I knew a long time ago,” he said. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
The future is certainly looking bright for Hurts.
The Pro Bowler is now the highest-paid player in NFL history at an average of $51 million per year.
Hurts’ contract also includes $179.3 million in guarantees and a no-trade clause.
The deal comes on the heels of what was a breakthrough third season for Hurts, who threw for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions through 15 regular season games.
He also recorded 760 rushing yards and 13 scores.
